• Redknapp denies making enquiries for any new signings
• Agent says Cissé has agreed 12-month loan at Tottenham
Djibril Cissé's agent says his player will be joining Tottenham in the summer on a season-long loan, though the Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has denied making enquiries for any players ahead of the close season.
After being dropped to the bench for Sunderland's game at Bolton on Saturday, Cissé was reported to have told his team-mates that he would be moving to White Hart Lane, a claim backed up by his agent.
"Djibril will not remain at Sunderland after the season has finished," said Ranko Stojic of the player who is currently on loan at the Stadium of Light from Marseille. "We have an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for Djibril to sign a 12-month contract. He will sign for Tottenham."
Redknapp, though, has poured cold water on that statement. "We haven't made any enquiries for anybody at the moment," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "The squad has done very well, but I still feel we need to strengthen in one or two areas as a group if we are to look to push on and try to make sure we are a top six team.
"If we can't get the players we want then it's not a desperate situation because we have lots of good players at the club."
